v18 LibreELEC Testbuilds for RaspberryPi (Kodi 18.0)
#0201: same CEC malfunction as before.
#0202 total crash of rpi3 after reboot. After that no reboot was possible again.
Think i have to set up everything from start.

With 11,12,13 reverted: No CEC disconnect after turning off TV and no CEC disconnect after switching TV input source (I don't have cable/sat connected, so I tested this by using the TV's internal (crappy) youtube app for a while and then switched back to kodi). So 11,12,13 revert working fine with newest #0201 release for me. I even did not have to power off from mains, it is working for me right after patching firmware with reverted stuff.
Code:
LibreELEC (community) Version: devel-20170201223352-#0201-g9163913
LibreELEC git: 91639134df74dcca210dc7007b8b35f3787bbaf7
LibreELEC:~ # vcgencmd version

Copyright (c) 2012 Broadcom
version 326ce4379abb2071c0e05ce5fe22ac171a2a2660 (clean) (release)

With 12,13 reverted: CEC working exactly as I wish. Not only does connection exist after switching TV input source or after turning TV off and on, but now my AVR immediately switches back hdmi signal to "kodi" right after I turn on my TV (which always causes a very short audio and CEC disconnect when AVR switches to "Samsung TV" but now it immediately recognizes "kodi" as active source and switches back and that's how it has been before for me).
So 12, 13 reverted works fine for me, even better than 11, 12, 13 reverted I think.

LibreELEC (community) Version: devel-20170201223352-#0201-g9163913

I think I tried reverted 13 several times during the last days, but I'll give it another try. So here we go...
Code:
LibreELEC (community) Version: devel-20170201223352-#0201-g9163913
LibreELEC git: 91639134df74dcca210dc7007b8b35f3787bbaf7

Okay, with reverted 13 same as before: CEC stops working right after signal switch or standby. Same CEC problem for me as unmodified #0201.

I hope this will help to enlighten things a bit.
I am sorry I didn't upload logfiles, but it is very late for me here and during the whole test I didn't check if and if yes, which log level I had activated via config.txt...
I could post some logs tomorrow if this should be neccassary.

Edit: Oops, another release while I was writing. I will update this post as soon as I will test if new release will be working for me out of the box, but I'm not sure if this will be today Smile

@Milhouse @popcornmix
Yes, with #0202 CEC is working fine for me, too Smile AVR keeps focus, TV off/on re-recognizes "kodi", everything fine so far

*) and I of course mean it is working fine for me without having to use reverted firmware

Awesome work MMXT!!

Thanks Popcornmix and Milhouse

You almost certainly don't, but can't help you without a crashlog.
Texture Cache Maintenance Utility: Preload your texture cache for optimal UI performance. Remotely manage media libraries. Purge unused artwork to free up space. Find missing media. Configurable QA check to highlight metadata issues. Aid in diagnosis of library and cache related problems.
Will check SD card later. Maybe a partition fault.
Got a bunch of FSCK0000-83.REC on sd. System seems to be killed...
Any suggestions?

Good to hear. Anyone else who has had CEC problems in recent build please test and report if there are still issues remaining.
At the moment we are just concerned with regressions - i.e. problems in latest build that weren't present in earlier builds.
I can test tonight. I have been holding off until the CEC was resolved. Thanks all

Sent from my Nexus 6
I came home now and libreelec has been idle for the last 14 hours and still everything CEC-related is working as expected.
Even waking up libreelec (by using my TV's CEC sources menu and re-selecting "kodi" and then pressing the enter key of my remote) is now working for me. I don't know if this has been working for me in all libreelec kodi 18 testbuilds, but I know for sure it did never work in libreelec kodi 17 builds for me (so I didn't test it for libreelec kodi 18 until #0202).

So I am really happy right now with CEC functionaliity Smile

Only thing to mention, what seems to be still a bit buggy (for me) is CEC still stops working after applying changes to libreelec's input device -> CEC menu (I always have to retranslate from german gui, so I'm sorry if sometimes I don't use the exact terms). After changes made in this menu, I have to reboot to get CEC working again. But to be honest, I can live with that. I use this menu once in a few months, so what... (and I had this behaviour in every build I used so far, not just in recent ones)
Build #0202 fixed the CEC issue for me also. To the extent that I have tested anyway.
Thanks milhouse!!
Playback 23,976(24) to 50Hz wih resampling audio is jerky from #0201. On #0131 everything is fine.
jerky video
Thx Build #0202 fixxed my CEC issues @Samsung TV!
#0202 also fixed my CEC errors when switching active sources and/or TV standby.

Slightly offtopic:
Is it possible to have savegames with retroplayer and Internet Archive ROM Launcher?
Last time i tried was not able to save progress in any game/emulator, but only did some quick testing.

I believe that is planned.

That means file system corruption has occurred - you can delete the *.REC files.

You may need to replace any missing boot files as that could be preventing the system from booting - you need these files:
Code:
bootcode.bin
start.elf
fixup.dat
kernel.img
SYSTEM
cmdline.txt

All but cmdline.txt can be found in the tar file.

A default cmdline.txt file contains:
Code:
boot=/dev/mmcblk0p1 disk=/dev/mmcblk0p2 quiet
