The error only seems to occur after a LibreElec update, but not every time and not very often, so this could be hard to pin down. I can't recall ever seeing this problem after a cold boot or a reboot - only straight after an update.

thanks, this is already helpful information. I'm not sure what would trigger this issue only on an update (and only since kernel 5.0) but this gives a hint why I might not have seen it yet - I didn't do too many updates with 5.0 kernels, lately I've mainly been testing with 4.19.
