You can define the behaviour in advancedsettings.xml with <languagecodes>
for example
<languagecodes>
<code><short>en</short><long>English</long></code>
<code><short>eng</short><long>English</long></code>
</languagecodes>
will then recoginze
moviname.en.srt
moviename.eng.srt
to be displayed as English subtitle whe choosing from subtitle list in XBMC OSD
if you don't have defined this in adavancedsettings.xml, XBMC OSD will display them like this:
moviname.en.srt -> subtitle.EN.srt
moviename.eng.srt -> subtitle.ENG.srt
HOWEVER for some reason I'm not able to reproduce <languagecodes> to work like I describe above (seems like setting in does nothing and I'm still getting subtitle.EN.srt displayed in XBMC OSD although I have
<languagecodes>
<code><short>EN</short><long>English</long></code>
</languagecodes>
in advancedsettings.xml
, but I'm hell of sure it was working like I'm suggesting, seems to be a bug because I was using it some time ago.
Can anyone else confirm it before I submit it as a bug on TRAC?
for example
<languagecodes>
<code><short>en</short><long>English</long></code>
<code><short>eng</short><long>English</long></code>
