I saw this posted at the Nvidia forums:

Quote:Oh boy, in addition to the fact that I cannot even manually change the refresh rate any more, now Netflix contents with 23.976Hz (i.e. nearly everything) now shows a slight stutter every few seconds (refresh rate is fixed on 23.976Hz, as also the projector confirms). It's like the picture gets frozen for a very short fraction of a second every 5-10 seconds. It's VERY annoying. While the 3.x updates turned the Shield TV into a partly-annoying-but-with-workarounds-still-usable device, with the 5.0.2 update it now got totally unusable to me.

Could someone confirm this? There is no way I'm going to update if that's the case.

No, I can't confirm. Works fine for me and haven't seen that issue on my setup.

Install the one directly from the Play Store. If you have issues you can try the version from here: https://github.com/koying/SPMC/releases/....5.80-spmc

Is it sad that the biggest thing I like about this update is that the Netflix app is now where it belongs with all the other apps?

Regarding the Home Menu i prefer the old one, but on this update the navigation seems faster

I can confirm this is the shield connected to a HDMI2 input with only HDCP1.4/UHD deep color. In this case the resolution is fixed to 4k/60Hz and RGB-8 709. If you alter f.e. to 4k/59,9 and OK-ed this, the shield switches back to 4k/60. the same is with the Color deep.
SPMC/KODI can't also switch any resolution or framerate

Just updated my 2015 16GB Shield from rooted and with xposed 3.3 version. Did it manually in TWRP, re-rooted as well, and everything went without issues.
Upon rebooting, I was prompted to update my remote and controller firmware to newer versions, which I did.

Tested the the new remote behavior (the douple tap to play/pause) on the Youtube app and I have to say I kinda like it.

My issue with this new remote functionality is on Kodi/SPMC/SPMC beta. It seems that the sensitivity is way off, and it registers the play/pause double-press while navigating on lists. Fast browsing and then landing on item will inevitably start playing said item. Also while watching something and the remote is picked up will pause the video around 50% of the time.

Seems really peculiar, because for example in the YouTube app it does not behave the same way. I have to explicitly double tap to get the video to play/pause.

Does anyone else have an issue with the 2015 Shield Remote and the new firmware ?
