"Step backward" on AFTV causes long pause
#1
I have always had an issue with "step backward" taking too long on AFTV (sometimes 3-4 seconds before playback resumes) and would like to know if others are experiencing the same thing. If this is a common issue with this hardware, is the delay a function of a network buffering, AFTV's RAM, CPU resources or something else? If this is not a common issue, then how can I troubleshoot and fix it?

Seeking back is a problem for a hw decoder, cause normally it processes the data forward. For seeking back, one needs to jump, drop and forward decode to a recovery point. Does it work properly with Mediacodec and MediaCodec Surface disabled? (Choose a low bandwidth movie)
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

Thanks, I'll test it with those two disabled. Most of my movies are 4.5GB--is that considered low bandwidth for a wired connection?

Was meant for the bitrates, so that SW decoding works.
