Linux Power button Behavior
#1
I have always run kodi on lubuntu or kodibuntu.

Today I installed on Linux Mint 18

I backed up and restored all userdata settings from 16.1 to 16.1

On this same hardware (ECS Liva X) under lubuntu, pressing the power button (On CPU) when kodi was running caused an immediate shutdown. This was ALWAYS the fastest way to shutdown as the remote power button or main menu seems to take a while sometimes.

my remote power brings up Power menu, so I have that if I want it.

Under Linux Mint 18 however the power button (on CPU) causes the power menu to pop up.

I would like to get the same behavior I am used to with an immediate shutdown on cpu power button. it is a quick and easy way to shut down even when the TV is off. The liva under ubuntu would shut down on only a few seconds whereas the menu or on screen power button sometimes delays a LOOOOOOOOONG time.

I configured mint for immediate shutdown on power button press but it seems I can not get this in kodi under mint, i just get the pesky power menu.

thanks,

Mark

Hi All!

I have the same problem/question. I have Kodi on LibreELEC and after the last update the behavior of the CPU power button changed :-(
I suppose that it should be possible to make some little correction somewhere in the configuration - I don't care whether in Kodi or Linux.

Can someone help?
Thanks

It works for me :-)

Just map the power button to Shutdown() in keyboard.xml, kodi's default is to show the shutdown menu.

see eg here https://forum.libreelec.tv/thread/20096-...post125895

so long,
