3D stereo image

I've got an over/under 3D-video named ***.3D.TAB.mkv. Kodi successfully recognizes its name and tries to convert it to 3D. So it properly doubles its OSD in the top and the bottom halves of the screen.
But the movie itself is shown in the top half only as an unprocessed stereo-pair video. So, the source vertical pair is squeezed even more to fit the top half of the screen.
The bottom half is just a black screen with Kodi's OSD.

All my attempts have not provided any success. I either get a normail over/under image, but with a single Kodi's interface instance (so it's impossible to use when switching TV to 3D mode). Or I get the image described above.

I might have done something wrong with Kodi's settings (or haven't done something, obviously), but cannot figure out what it might be. Please, point me in the right direction.
The media player is Amlogic-based (S905, AFAIK).

Thanks.
