i am a kodi user for many years always happy when it updates, now last night (for me i live in belgium) the update for kodi 17 came out and big was my suprise that i could not update it because my tablet and my minix tv box stil runs android 4.4.2. Wy this change ?

Kodi 17 need some android capabilities that are not there before android 5.0

we got rid of all the hacks and quirks that where needed on older Android versions as they only caused issues. And we had to move forward in order to get support for HD-audio passthrough and other things, which are only available on Android 5 and up. So it's not like we just bumped the required Android version for fun, we had technical reasons for it (same reason we dropped Windows XP support etc)
