KCleaner (Clean up temporary files & other stuff)
OK, I might add some error catching in there just in case Smile

I can replicate the issue fairly quickly and easily, so if/when you do add the error-catching code, I'll be glad to confirm its efficacy.

It's the newest version of libre elec and kcleaner has just stopped working, no other changes made. I'm not collecting exact version numbers or logs I'm,just reporting it gives an error and reinstalling isn't working

What version of Kodi is that, 17.3?

Just tried KCleaner on 17.3 and it works OK.

Thumbs Up
Well, so I can! Smile

Happy to report that both scans ran without error after KCleaner update and re-installation of known-bad repo. Well done!

You need to install the test repo in order to access v.2.61. The test repo can be added by opening the Lanik Repository, clicking on Add-on repository, and clicking on Lanik Test Repository.

Got it now. I misunderstood when you said we could get "it" from "the normal repository" that you meant the update not the test repo. I'm good now.

Hi,

I really love this addon for keeping my install tidy and it used to start up pretty fast for me but now when I first start it up I get a "Busy please wait" pop-up which runs anywhere from 5 to 7 minutes before I eventually get to the actual KCleaner main screen that allows me to choose Clean, Settings, etc. If I even then go into the Settings then back out to get to the KCleaner main screen it again takes about 5 to 7 minutes. Is this the way the newer versions are supposed to work or do I have something messed up?
I am running SPMC on a Nvidia Shield and this happens with both the 2.6 and 2.61 versions of KCleeaner.
As you can see in this small log snippet, it takes about 6 minutes from the time I start the app until the time it starts to list the addons and space that can be saved:

It is calculating the sizes of the data to be cleaned. It is really strange that it does take so long because on my Windows i7 it takes like 1/2 second and on android box 2-3 seconds maximum.

Can you get the version -2.62 from my test repo, and post the log. This should pinpoint more precisely where it hangs....
