Doesn't look too promising.

Admittedly I have not tried to use a VIA EPIA board in several years but I had thought that unichrome-3D-drivers allowed DRI access to MESA for OpenGL?

They do it here in this HOWTO
http://sourceforge.net/docman/display_do..._id=102048

I believe that that the link you sent was to a driver that was a fork of this one centering on XvMC?

This is pretty exciting. I have a ton of SD content, and always like seeing more ways to play it back.

2 Questions for you since it's been kind of a dead thread lately.

1) How would i properly update the live image currently? I noticed the utilities and exe file to format and make a USB Live image are in the SVN, but how would i make the updated XBMC image itself?
2) Is it possible to install/load say ghome still when not running XBMC? (say to fix or update something, then go back into XBMC when done.) Or would a user be stuck only having to be knowing around the linux command box? I would like to be able to get into gnome (i believe that's the defaulted Ubuntu standard GUI used) to either webbrowse xbmc news and as well as update things is needed to.

Not dead, just busy.

This great proof-of-concept is still under development and as such unsupported. Issues are still being worked out.

I just meant it's been more quiet lately because of hard work being put into this. But any feedback on the 2 questions? I love using thiis, but still would love to have gnome or something to use for any update's or browsing still.

referring to V2, if you rename the file xbmc.img on the flash disk you will end up with fluxbox

LiveXBMCv2 is actually what i'm talking about and refering to. The last image build was SVN-12869 which is from May 2, about 317 changes ago. And some big changes as being some of them. I don't mind building my own, but since i noticed the LiveXBMC tools are in the SVN now, unless i'm missing something, i'm confused as to purpose of adding them if a user still has to have a full linux install in order to build and compile a new image to use to make a new usb LiveXBMC image.
So that's kind of what i'm asking here is if there's a way i'm not knowing about to make a new image myself? I don't have a problem just putting Ubuntu back on my 4 gig stick and updating that way, but that way takes up about 3.0 gigs worth instead of around 1 gig, but at least i have the whole Ubuntu OS to mess around with and update and browse that way still.

Thanks for letting me know about the ease of simply renaming the image file to use it as Fluxbox. I can't remember what Fluxbox is, since using that on my xbox i believe a long time ago. Stipped version of linux correct? Or command only? Sorry for the questions, just trying to understand this a little better with linux stuff side. Thanks and appreciate the answers. Really. Smile

There will be another XBMC Live out sometime, so you won't be needing to use the tools, they are there incase you want to alter the core system, ie adding open office incase you want that for some reason Smile
