i know there are kodi updater inside kodi, and i have it installed. i update everyday.

it would be very cool if i can get a direct link to the newest nightly for automatisation...

 Rooting enables you to use more powerful backup software packages. That's why I needed to root.

Which you still don't need.  All you need for backing up Kodi on Android is a file explorer (like X-Plore) and copy the .kodi folder to what ever path you need for your backup. There maybe tools that make it slightly easier, but they are not more "powerful"

Root is not need for this.
