I think it'd be great if Kodi is added to the Opera TV store for Sony Bravia smart TVs. Unfortunately, some Sony TVs sold even today can only access this store to download apps, since they don't run a full android system.

If they don't run a full Android system, how do you expect them to run Kodi?

And you can always use the apk if the only issue is access to the play store.

Not possible as your smart tv is actually a very dumb device that can't run proper apps, all it can do is present simple html type apps.
