Stop Turning off my Receiver
#1
Not all the time, but enough of the time, while streaming a video, BAM, my stereo receiver is shut off. Kodi continues to run. I turn the stereo back on and the video is still playing. The volume always goes to zero.

This makes no sense. Its very annoying.

Any help or ideas?

This is a Amazon Fire Stick, Kodi 17.3v. Its done this on older versions as well.

Thanks

Kodi has no control over your receiver. I suggest there are other non-kodi issues.

This only happens when I'm using my Amazon Fire Stick and Kodi. It will shut the receiver off. I turn it back on, adjust the volume and it will do it again sometimes a few minutes later. Makes no sense. It has to be Kodi. It doesn't do it with Direct TV, Apple TV, DVD's etc. If your 100% sure its not Kodi, where should I go troubleshoot?
Thanks

A debug log (wiki) is a great place to start. Please provide one via pastebin link

IMPORTANT:
The official Kodi version does not contain any content what so ever. This means that you should provide your own content from a local or remote storage location, DVD, Blu-Ray or any other media carrier that you own. Additionally Kodi allows you to install third-party plugins that may provide access to content that is freely available on the official content provider website. The watching or listening of illegal or pirated content which would otherwise need to be paid for is not endorsed or approved by Team Kodi.

Kodi can control your receiver via CEC but I am not sure if the fire stick has cec.

If you are convinced it is kodi, get a debug log (wiki)
