this might be offtopic, but dont know where to ask..

maybe someone can give me some links or ideas what is possible and usefull as i am not satisfied with my current setup at home. what definitly will be kept is the xbmc :-)

have ...
- german cable tv
- dbox2 (which only recieves premiere digital channels) connected to pc for streaming
- tv with analog cable tuner to recieve "normal" channels
- xbox to play streams from pc and listen music

what i am missing in my setup is some thing to record/capture my cable tv stations. as far as i am in the picture it will take long time to expect "normal" analog channels ("rtl,sat1,pro7") to get digital recievable with dbox2.
i am not allowed to install a satelite dish :-( .. and if i were allowed i need to replace my dbox2 (as it is a cable one)

what are my option? i read about devices like snapstream/replaytv.. what is all this stuff, does it help me?

has anybody a comparable setup and can comment on my setup and give me so new ideas?
