Don't think about setting the resolution in XBMC rather setting it in OS X. Plug your mini and and go to the displays system preference. See if the resolutions are supported. If not download SwitchresX, do a ton of reading Wink

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but the resolution settings in XBMC (Video Hardware) are almost totally useless...
