ISO rips do not work at all... audio or video.  I see the log error for no JAVA.  I've never needed JAVA before.  As I understand it, this is only for experimental menu option and not for main movie playback.  Is this true?  If not and JAVA is required for any playback using v.18, can you provide a link and version of compatible minimal install JAVA required?

From your earlier log you have the specific hdmi audio device selected as your passthrough output device, if you change that to WASAPI:default do the mkv’s still output HD audio.

Not following you, sorry?  My audio decoder and my pass through device are both set to WASAPI and always have been.  NVidia to Denon.  Never mind, I know what you mean.  DTS:HDMA plays correct.  Dolby True HD is in stereo.  Switching back to WASAPI NVidia to Denon, it plays in DDTHD as it should and DTS:HDMA continues to work.  Switched to wiki test files as I have no DTS:X or atmos (.mkv) files, only iso's.  DTS:X.mkv from wiki working also.  None of the .m2ts files work anymore but do work using external fwiw.  That could explain why ISO's are also failing?  I know they are mounting but I think ffmpeg is not decoding any .m2ts streams.

with Kodi KodiSetup-20171115-28db1a8-master-x64.exe and WASAPI: DENON-AVRHD-0 instead of WASPI:default option HD Audio works.
Here the log with working Audio and latest nightly.   WASPI:default does not work.

Could you try with WASAPI:default set using either:

32 bit test build http://mirrors.kodi.tv/test-builds/windo...er-x86.exe

64 bit test build http://mirrors.kodi.tv/test-builds/windo...er-x64.exe

Is this with complete rips like an iso or only with .mkv's for example?  Please see here Samples (wiki)

Installed the new nightly.  Iso's and .m2tx play audio and video now.  The audio is not in HD though - for example, Atmos.  Using an external, I get Atmos audio.  Thank you for moving forward on this.

Just tried KodiSetup-20171112-56700867e9-master-x64.exe.  It crashes upon launching.

I am having the same problem on Windows 7 64-bit for both Kodi 64-bit and 32-bit. I am getting this error: DXDeviceResources::CreateSwapChain: function call at line 417 ends with error: 887A0001 - DXGI_ERROR_INVALID_CALL

I know this is an old thread but I had the same problem. Kodi 17.x and 18.x would work after rebooting my laptop but would crash after closing and restarting Kodi (Only rebooting my system would fix it for one session). I checked the log after a fresh installation of Kodi 17.x and this is what it showed on the last line "11:30:23.057 T:3392   ERROR: DXGI_ERROR_INVALID_CALL". What fixed it for me was, setting the display setting from "fullscreen" to "windowed".  Maybe this will help someone with the same or similar problem.
