Hi All....i have kodi 17.6 on a gen 1 fire stick pointing to a very very old nas310 and although the infamous judder/stutter was there to start with after changing the "normal" settings, adjust display refresh rate etc etc this played any of my local movie content flawlessly....then in steps Santa..with a new 4k fire TV hangy diamond thing, i apply exactly the same settings and voila..judder..no matter what i change and whatever way i do it i cannot shift the judder except for 1 way...go to fire TV, press the up and rewind for 10 seconds until the hidden menu appears and manually change to 24Hz, this plays the content beautifully....but kodi and the fire TV are obviously near on impossible to use with the delay..so was wondering if anyone has had the problem and came up with a solution or maybe even point me in the right direction...thank you all for your time
cheers

Having exactly the same problem. 1080p 29.97 fps plays smoothly, but 720p 59.94 fps plays smoothly for a few seconds and and then stutters to a stop. Frame rate never reaches 59.94 fps and video eventually freezes showing most frames dropped. Despite the opinion of the 4K Fire TV on here, there is no problem playing any resolution on Perfect Player, so nothing to do with hardware. I've tried every combination of settings, including advanced xml and no difference.

I know you guys are busy but I don't suppose you have managed to look at this log as yet? Its driving me nuts as im using the old firestick with a new one sitting doing nothing...it seems to point at the adjust refresh rate not changing the tv..even though it's enabled I can see it's still on 60hz when playing a 24fps movie...thanks all..

It's just the ID of the resolution (kodi internal) - nothing to wonder.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.
