Kodi 18 video player little, short freezing
#1
Hi Team,

KODI 18 video player is excellent, much better than 17.6 one but I noticed a little, short video freezing while playing live tv or video addons streaming, iafter returning to version 17.6 the freezing disappeared by itself, hope it get fixed because the new video player is as I said before awesome. Testing was done with a 62 Mb internet speed.

Thank you

Performance of VideoPlayer depends a lot on the platform you run Kodi. Reference platform is Linux X11. You did not give any info about your setup.

that info unfortunately still doesn't help. There are so many ARM flavors out there, some support proper hardware acceleration, others don't due to borked firmware. So please provide a Debug Log from where you try to play a video. Only there we will see the full specs and capabilities of your hardware and what's going on within Kodi that might cause the issues. The fix could be as simple as enabling the setting "sync playback to display", but we can only tell once we see a Debug Log

I enabled the "sync playback to display" setting and it seems to help, the freezing between scenes is now shorter but it still there.

You'd better post this in the Android section of the forum. I doubt that an Android developer will notice this here.

yes, please provide the full debug log. Do so by first putting it on a service llike pastebin.com, paste.ubuntu.com or your private cloud drive (google drive, dropbox, ...) and just post a link to it here.

edit: I'll move this thread to the Android section and point our Android devs to it

Hi Smile

Same problem here with my h06pro+, altough my mxq pro 4k does not stutter.
On my h96pro+ I have to disable hardware decoders and set buffering on 100%, while on my mxqpro 4k it just runs with standard ettings
h96pro+ has 3Gb/32Gb and mxqpro 4k has 1Gb/8Gb  memory.

Hope this helps.
