I was one of the people who had the weird issue where streams wouldn't play even though they should.  I just upgraded to the latest Kodi bike and uninstalled the old CBC add on and did a clean install of the latest. 
It opens streams fine in both ffmpeg and inputstream adaptive.  Something in either Kodi or your work has just fixed it, no idea how it why
I do have a problem with buffering (plays about 10s then buffers for a few seconds and repeats).  Does it if use ffmpeg is checked or not.  Too early to say what's going on -havent done much debugging to see if it's network, internet, cpu related but if you have any suggestions in a debugging flow I'd be glad to hear them!

Hi, wondering if you solved the buffering problem. I am having the same problem with the CBC news addon viewing the Windsor News. I am running fibre 360, wired directly using kodi 18.5
