I'm not having any success with the fix for the CBC plugin. Selecting Shows generates the same error as before.

I've replaced the default.py file (the CBC.py and Shows.py files did not exist but I replaced them as well).
I've tested this on two different Windows machines running Leia 18.1 and 18.6. I also am happy with Leia and have no reason to upgrade.

One machine is running Python 2.7 and the other Python 3 if that's relevant.
Any suggestions?

The instructions I posted were patches for Kodi 18.x Leia only.  Leia uses Python 2.x only.  Note that Kodi 19.x Matrix uses Python 3.

You might try logging out of the CBC add-on and then rebooting.  The steps with the Confluence skin are:
 

1. Go to Add-ons -> My add-ons -> Video add-ons -> Canadian Broadcasting Corp (CBC) -> Configure
   
2. Choose Log out
   
3. Go back to the main Kodi menu and choose Reboot
