I think this has been a problem for a while. a work around is to edit the xml

There is also a HomeLayout.label setting, I know I only changed one setting and I'm pretty positive it was the first one but just be aware it might be the second option.
I'm pretty certain this is what you want to change. I use simplehor as my layout. I had to use a krypton version of kodi to find out the titles, I'm sure they are listed somewhere in the addon but I didn't want to search.
