Hello, just wanted to let you know that I solved the problem.
In my case, the problem was in the video card. I have an ATI HD 4870 and the official ATI drivers just let you have 2 channels for the audio through HDMI. I had to download a specific driver from Realtek to enable 8 channels.
Now the audio is ok, all the movies play regularly in DTS or DD or whatever they are.
