I have an Intel NUC mini PC kit NUC7i5BNK (Intel Core i5, Slim version) running Libreelec 9.0.2 as its OS. I have it hooked up to an old Westinghouse TV that runs best at 1366x768 @ 60hz

Some movies like IO and Avengers Infinity War play in 720p. Others like Ant-man and the wasp, Solo: A Star Wars Story. Don't.. is this normal?

I've just updated the Netflix addon to the latest daily (14.6) to see if that'd help.

If you are able to watch Netflix that means you have the Inputstream Adaptive plug-in installed.  Go to Inputstream Adaptive->Settings->General.
Max. Resolution general decoder & Max. Resolution secure decoder set them both to 720p.

I see you are running Kodi 17.4 - I'm on 18.3.  I'm not sure but I believe Netflix has some limitations under Kodi versions <18.

I'm getting a mix of standard and high definition with the add-on running CoreELEC.  I think it just depends on how Netflix serves up the movies and how the add-on deals with them on its particular platform.

Hello. I have the latest Netflix installed in my Kodi Leia. Since last week there is something wrong with my subtitles. I am in Greece. Until last week when I went to the subtitles section I could see lots of subs. Greek English German etc. But now even though I have the subs enabled there is no subtitles showing. I don't know what happened. Is there anyone having this problem? Thanks in advance.
 

I am having this issue in latest daily build. I was not even able to download subs via opensubtitles.org but that seems okay now after a restart or something. Have you tried manually DL subs?

Yes that's what I am doing. I am downloading subs via opensubtitles. But I wish that I could use them via Netflix like before. The odd thing is that it works in some series. But in some others not. I will do a restart later and see if the problem still exists.

I didn't even notice until I checked - it appears that indeed some content is HD while others are SD.  I'm on Windows 7 Kodi 18.3 so it's not platform specific.


I wouldn't expect any title produced within this decade to be SD.  I'll have to check how those titles stream in the web  browser and android app.

I was wrong - it IS platform specific.  Apparently content owners (Disney et al.) will restrict Netflix's streaming quality to SD on certain platforms (Kodi, certain web browsers).  For Solo/Antman and the Wasp 1080P you will need Edge/IE 10, Windows 10 official Netflix App and possibly other hardware platforms.

In short, it's a DRM issue.

i would like to add movies and series to my library through a playlist... like adding netflix content as source and then being able to add it to a smartplaylist. Or at least have the option to have different sources from netflix on settings and then choose the source folder i want to store into, for example movies, animation movies, series, animation series, documentaries, short movies, animation short movies... something like that.

i just want to populate my kodi library with my netflix streams

Maybe I am missing something but my blurays, amazon prime and Netflix are all included and update in the same libraries. My movie library and my tv show library. I click on my personal movies and the movie starts. I click on an amazon title and it starts the amazon movie. I even click on the Netflix title, in either the movie library or the tv show library and the Netflix movie starts. The library even gives me the poster views and such for all media. I am not trolling or trying to argue. I am just making an observation of my experiences. If these things aren't the issue I sincerely request to understand better. It may not matter much cause I am looking to upgrade to an android television to complete the last of all the rooms and will probably be satisfied using the Netflix android app supported. but I would be happy if you or anyone satisfy my curiosity. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Yes thats it, export to library, but not one single personalized folder... and series and movies all mixed up from netflix library folder... i want more folders options... movies, animation movies, series, animation series, documentaries, documentaries series, short films, animation short films... so i can tweak my eminence or arctic zephyr skin, without that folders i cannot costumize my kodi, for that i always have to change folder on settings.

I have asked for more library folders options on addons like 4 years ago... seems only the guys with pirated addons acept the sugestion, and i could never understood that, and now that i don´t want to use them no more, i have this restriction in all legal addons.

the problem is most users dont even tweak or pimp up kodi, most for them would just use confluence and everything mixed up and its fine, but iam a picky hoarder.

long press -> export to personalized library folder 1, 2.... 10 -> happy user!

That makes sense. I wonder if the Netflix android app can do that. When I was using the Shield TV app it didn't even separate my movies from my tv shows. all under one category (called "my list" I believe). maybe my soon to have android television will have those features. In the meantime I 2nd your suggestion for the kodi addon.

Is this one better and more actively maintained? My only problem with my current addon are the long loading times between menus. Is this working faster here?

stick to the one you're using if you use library integration as it works much better than this one, with this app it will ad a series to your library but won't update the library when new episodes are released the other one will.
and now I have sorted the audio problems with the one you linked as it was defaulting to stereo but now it's defaulting to 5.1 its the mutch better option.

thanks for supporting me... i was checking out, at least Netflix addon sorts automatically into tv shows and movies, so i have animation series and tv series all mixed up, for the ones who have kids, it could be annoying having kids series mixed up with GOT or something like that, for movies works the same... the only option i see is with tags, you will have to tag every movie or series you have into your categories (if it was folder categories would be better but we work what we got), then make a smart playlist by tags to sort your library and then populate your skin widgets with the playlist created and sorted by the tags... and that takes a lot of time, that's the only way you can sort your addon imports the way you like.

I tried using a tag addon or the leia tag option but didn't got much success, i have to look further into that user options.

If kodi wants to fight piracy, this is the way to go, subscriptions services with good subtitles are really less expensive every month than hard drives, cloud services, and police knocking at your door.

And please don't think I am rude by talking out loud, I am just contributing with my thoughts for the community as well as my personal interests, i think good feature discussions can be good for all the community.
