Release Netflix Add-on [input-stream]
When I use a Netflix subtitle from my hard drive after replacing ‏ with the hidden control character RIGHT-TO-LEFT EMBEDDING in SRT format with Kodi as an external subtitle while watching Netflix using the Netflix plugin all the punctuation marks be in the right position, something if forcing all the Netflix subtitles which I get directly from inputstream adaptive to be in ltr direction.

As a temporary solution, If your device can run the Netflix plugin on the latest Kodi 19, install the right version of inputstream adaptive for your device from this mega link and the problem of lrm should be solved for you, many thanks for CastagnaIT for solving it.

If your device can not run the Netflix plugin with the latest Kodi 19, download the right Kodi 19 for your device from here from the date 20190901 and install this file first to Kodi, then install inputstream adaptive from the previous mega link.

On second thought, I do not think there is anything is forcing all the subtitles to be in ltr direction because Netflix already has many Arabic subtitles without ‏ and only have the hidden control character "Right to left embedding" in the start of each subtitle line like the movie "1922" and the punctuation marks are displayed at the right positions on Kodi with the Netflix plugin, I think the effect of replacing ‏ with "Right to left embedding" and ‎ with "Left to right embedding" does not occur immediately for some reason, you can test this thought by removing

replace_string(strText, "‏", "\0xE2\0x80\0xAB");
replace_string(strText, "‎", "\0xE2\0x80\0xAA");

and add

replace_string(strText, "\0xE2\0x80\0xAB", "\0xE2\0x80\0xAA");

If the full stop in the Arabic subtitle lines still at the left end of the lines in the movie "1922", then my thought is right.

the problem is in my country i can't do tests (like 1922 or Bright)
most of Arabic streams are not listed in (Kodi) subtitles languages, becouse are not in webvtt type, but in image type

you can move the conversation on github because it's hard for me to follow here

Thank you so much for all your help, I have no more ideas now for how the problem with RLM could be fixed, you can ask for merging of your PR, at least we got rid of the very annoying ‏ and ‎ and the subtitles now are more readable, thank you again.

 I do not know exactly how Netflix converts the subtitles from its text format to the image format, but I may guess that they erasing the tags and replace ‏ with the hidden control character right to left embedding before converting them, this modified version of the original Netflix plugin should gives you the Arabic subtitles in Webvtt format with the Netflix originals, you will need to uninstall your version of the Netflix plugin first, and set the Arabic subtitles in your preferred subtitle language, you will only get the subtitles in Arabic with this modified Netflix plugin.

My images are from my PC for the Arabic subtitles in webvtt format, if you can get any subtitles in image format in the browser you will be able to get them in the text format webvtt in the Netflix plugin.

No, what I'm saying is that the browser displays them like this, not like you say
So you're telling me that all the subtitles displayed in the browser are wrong?

All the Arabic subtitles in the browser are in the correct position, the full stop is at the left end where it should be (versus to the English language where the full stop be at the right end), in the subtitles with ‏ in the Netflix plugin the full stop is at the right end which is wrong, this wrong position can be fixed by adding right to left embedding instead of ‏.

I have a problem running Netflix on Beelink GT1 Mini - 2 Android 9.0 TV Box Amlogic S905X3 Media Player with Kodi. I could install the Netlix addon on Kodi without errors, but it doesn't open the stream from the Netflix server. The log file is attached

Hello everyone & thanks for all the help you're providing.

We actually own 2 Xiaomi Box 3 up-to-date with Kodi 18.5 & the last version of https://github.com/CastagnaIT/plugin.video.netflix. DRM Info is showing L1 on both and they are configured the same way (HEVC profiles ON, Enable HDR Profile ON, Force support to HDCP 2.2 ON, Override HDCP status ON, Enable VP9 profiles OFF, Ignore Display Resolution ON, Enable Dolby Digital Plus ON).

The first one is directly connected to a LG 4K TV through HDMI while the second one is connected to a Sony HT-ZF9 soundbar connected to a Samsung QE55Q70R TV. The first one can play videos from the plugin without any problem, even if not more than 960x540. The second one can navigate all the Netflix catalog, but is unable to play videos like you can see on https://i.imgur.com/fyRP8R1.jpg (sorry for the actual format, but I can provide a full text log later if needed)

Any idea what's exactly the problem here please? Thanks in advance.

I'd try a process of elimination. Swap the boxes onto each others' outputs (or the outputs if easier) and see where the error goes.

If it stays with the sound bar-connected output, disable features like Dolby Digital Plus, HDCP, HDR etc. one after the other on that box. Or the other way around - get vanilla playback working with all enhancements disabled and build up from there.

Unfortunately, we're not at the same location at the moment to try a swap, but we'll definitely try to disable everything first to check that. Thanks for the answer.

Looking further into the log, it seems to start with a GetDirectory error because of a ProfilesMissing exception as you can see on https://i.imgur.com/ROmPZHp.png then IPC call update_profiles_data with the same ProfilesMissing error (https://i.imgur.com/zLKKbDT.png & https://i.imgur.com/T7rk08l.png) before a Broken pipe error + SQLiteError (https://i.imgur.com/oGiTveY.jpg) to arrive to what I was previously showing within my first post.

Maybe I'll also ask them to uninstall first the Plugin, then delete its full directory (if still existing) before reinstalling it after a reboot if an initial problem occurred to populate the DB for profiles.

Thanks for the answer fvisagie
