Subfolder 'Steam' showing up as a movie in Kodi- HiMedia Q10pro
#1
Hi,

have a issue where the subfolder called 'stream' that contains the movie itself, aminations/special features etc is showing up in kodi as individual movies called stream (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4341956/?ref_=fn_tt_tt_2

Is there any work around for this? i have about 300 movies now called "Stream". No issue when i use the built in media player on the Q10pro but would like to use Kodi for the better interface

Hello @JohnnyBoyIsMe

You will need to give more info. Do you actually have a movie called Stream? Or are you using Bluray folders and it is picking up the contents of the stream folder? Or is it some sort of folder that holds movie Extras?

 Hi @Karellen
No movie called 'Stream', its picking up the BD iso folder contents of the stream folder.
It is picking up the iso folder 'stream' similar to this

Geez, what movie is that? I have hundreds of preserved Bluray movie rips and they usually only have one m2ts file or maybe two. Never seen one with so many. How are you ripping?

It is a shame you blacked out the address, because I would like to have seen the folder structure. So now you need to explain for me.

I need a Debug Log which captures you scraping the movie that gives multiple copies.

  1. Remove a few copies of the movie.
  2. Enable Debugging mode. Go to Settings>System Settings>Logging and it should be the first option
  3. Restart Kodi
  4. Replicate the problem. Perform an Update Library.
  5. Upload the results to https://paste.ubuntu.com/ manually or use the Kodi Logfile Uploader. With either method post the link back here.
Note: Full logs only. No partial or redacted logs

Hi @Karellen

Sorry the screen shot above was only an example as I was at work. Below are some actual screen shots of my files.

I have a whole heap of UHD rips with similar file structures. Was 1:1 with everything preserved and no remux

No idea if this is the correct log, but seems to show something?

Yes, you have lots of issues...

1. File naming is a bit of a mess. Will work most times, but really opens you up to errors. See... https://kodi.wiki/view/Naming_video_files
2. You have incorrectly placed Extras in the movie folder, so they are being scanned also. See https://kodi.wiki/view/Add-on:Extras or https://kodi.wiki/view/Add-on:Special_Features
3. Looking at The Mummy 2017, no sign of index.bdmv. Does one exist?
4. Do you have the setting Movies are in separate folders that match the movie title enabled in the scraper settings page?... https://kodi.wiki/view/Adding_video_sources
5. TV Shows are poorly setup and the reason why you can't scrape some of your tv shows. See the Naming video files guide.

Thanks for checking out my log, Looks like it really was a mess!!

1 - I have gone through and updated the names, then done a manual check and now all my movies are showing up correctly
2 - Still working on this one. I am using the HiMedia Q10 pro as a media player and the runs Kodi through the Wrapper app. Cant get this to work as I cant download the app mentioned. I have posted a question on the HiMedia forums for assistance.
3 - I have checked my two copies of this film and both are missing the index.bdmv file. Do you know of way to get this and is it 100% needed?
4 - Yes this is enabled
5 - Have renamed all the TV show files and looks to be all showing up now.

Still showing up all the 'Stream' files in the Movies section. Any ideas on that front?

Cheers for your help

It is 100% needed. Strangely, it is the playable file. It holds the information that then directs the player to the correct m2ts files, holds chapter, subtitle, stream info. Without it, it is not a valid Bluray and the reason the Kodi scanner is scanning all the m2ts files in the Stream folder.

To create it, you need to re-rip the original disk. Or you can remux the m2ts files into a single mkv file using MKVToolNix... https://mkvtoolnix.download/ though I have never used this on UHD Bluray so don't know if it works. Won't take long to test, so no harm in trying though.
