Hi,

Could you guys please tell me if the SVN PPA sourcecode is based on the branch "9.04_Babylon-linux-osx-win32" or the branch "linuxport"? Thank you!

Cheers,

ADDONS and THIRD PARTIES

Third parties packages will be distributed via a reserved PPA: the xbmc-addons PPA. You will find there skins, scripts and plugins. I suggest you add it to your sources to benefit from all contribution put there.

I've got XBMC on juanty, can i use one of the above, or will there be a juanty ppa for addons coming?

Will there be an updated repository for the Addons for Jaunty? The latest repository appears to be Intrepid.

Does there _need_ to be a jaunty version of the addons repository, or should I use the intrepid repos even though I'm using Ubuntu 9.04 and XBMC 9.04 as well?

Thanks!

Intrepid packages would work on Jaunty without issues

I use the svn ppa and it hasn't been updated in a while, the latest package seems to be xbmc_9.04~rc1svn19929. Is this the same as the 9.04 babylon release or do I need to use the main ppa for the most up to date xbmc?

Pork - I was thinking the same thing. There is a VDPAU issue that is fixed in a later release...

Its sort of odd, with the lack of updates to the SVN PPA, if you look at the history there usually is never more then a few days between updates. But I suppose its volunteers doing the updating so maybe we shouldn't complain, rather pitch in.

I think the main PPA is still in earlier version yet since the SVN is 9.04 + revision....

Question
Apologies for being such a dump in linux but I'd like to install the linux version as after installed the live version on my computer and installed some addons XMBC is freezing at all times, so I'd like to start a linux installation but I don't know what to do.

Do I have to go to http://www.ubuntu.com and download the ubuntu? Which 1 the desktop or server version?

Is it possible that someone give me a step by step instructions.

Thanks alot
