I have a 2017 Nvidia Shield TV and a Sonos playbar with sub and surrounds. In the desktop Sonos application it's possible to see what audio input is being received, so when I play something with a Dolby Digital 5.1 track, it says that - all good. However when I play something in DTS, or DTS HD, or even just AAC, it says 'stereo'. I'm using passthrough, I have set the DTS capability to no, DD to yes, up mix to 5.1 to yes. How can I get Kodi to transcode DTS to DD?

Sorry, not sure what you mean? They're set to 5.1, is that not correct?

No it's not correct, Number of Channels needs to be set to 2.0 to get the transcode option in the passthrough section.

I have this same problem, but I do have channels set to 2. I don't see an upmix to 5.1 option, though. Only Upmix to Stereo.

Then passthrough is not enabled / available for you.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.
