test platform : Nvidia Shield Pro 2019 and PC
I could see the same result on both (But my PC is too power), the side effect is much visible on Nvidia Shield.
1 - I have activated KODI Debug to see CPU usage.
2 - I have tested all "Home menu style" without "Multi-Widgets" and the skin Estuary to have a reference
3 - I have tested all "Home menu style" with "Multi-Widgets"
4 - I have tested a "Home menu style" with "Multi-Widgets" with the minimal options and minimal informations to display
Conclusion :
with all "Home menu style" without "Multi-Widgets" or with Estuary
When you start kodi KODI CPU usage is approximately between 70% and 85 %.
All is smooth and you can launch a movie without Stutter
with all "Home menu style" with "Multi-Widgets"
When you start kodi , KODI CPU usage is approximately between 200% and 300 %.
With the minimal options and minimal informations to display and without any playlist, KODI CPU usage is the same between 200% and 300 %..
Use of the cpu is for 2 minutes at this level.
During these 2 minutes the navigation lag and if you launch a movie this one stutter.
At this point the solution is simple. Not use "Home menu style" with "Multi-Widgets" or launch Kodi and wait.
To be clear I ask nothing, It just for your information.
with all "Home menu style" without "Multi-Widgets"
with all "Home menu style" with "Multi-Widgets" and minimal information
Thanks for testing and your feedback. I think this could be related to the number of widgets and their content, item limit. Are you using exactly the same widgets (number/content) as in estuary?
What, if you set your skin shortcuts config to default? So that the ssc widgets only using db/local content?
Has estuary a widget item limit?
All are similare between Estuary and AZR
I have make a new test with all default widget and all default settings in "home menu" :
1 - Kodi stop
2 - file "addons\skin.arctic.zephyr.mod\1080i\script-skinshortcuts-includes.xml" deleted
3 - folder "userdata\addon_data\script.skinshortcuts\" deleted
4 - Kodi start
Same conclusion.
Don't worry. I will make more research on my side.
Thanks
Edit : perhaps can you point me if there is a commun file xml in .../1080i/ specific at all "Home menu style" with "Multi-Widgets". thanks
