Sony (Andoid) TV support

I have a sony tv that is running v17.6 of Kodi. I'm trying to attach to a SMB share on a FreeNas v11.2 server.
I think I'm running into the SMB V1 vs SMB v2 issue. I'm wondering if Kodi V18 fixes this, and if so how do I install
it without going through the Google Store that only seems to have KODI V17.6?

You can either join the beta program on the play store, or download the Leia RC apk file from our mirrors (here) and manually install it yourself (don't forget to enable install from 3rd party sources in your Android settings first).
