What is the proper way to upgrade the mythtv client on Librelec ?

I'm still running Kodi 17 ... I tried the RPI2 download off github, but it's not linked with the right libraries.

Do I just need to download and compile it myself on another box?

The best way is upgrade to Kodi 18.

For all other bad reasons to not upgrade, you have to compile from sources the addon yourself for your plarform.
