Same issue here, after updating to Shield Experience 8.0! About 8-10 seconds after loading Kodi crashes back to Shield home screen. To resolve, I had to uninstall and reinstall Kodi, after adding my programs (via Synology 918+using NFS protocol) and configuring Kodi to my liking all is well...UNTIL adding TheTVDB as a source for my TV programs. As soon as TheTVDB is added Kodi crashes back to the Shield home screen. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Kodi 4 times and had the same issue. On the 5th install I decided to just stick with, the already installed TheMovieDB as my source and all has worked perfectly since.

The TVDB scraper is currently broken due to a (now rolled back) api update at their end.

See the thread link below for more details and work-arounds whilst the roll-out rolls out.

Hi all,

Have just moved over to a Shield Pro and had a crack with 18.5 but am still getting the crashes due to the 100 jobs issue: https://paste.kodi.tv/vayebeyafa.kodi

I've also set my old 2018 Shield up from scratch on 18.5 (for me Dad) with a similar setup and that has no issues. I havnt seen many (if any) posts relating to it either so its leading me to believe that its something particular to my setup/config.

I don't use anything to do with TV/PVR, is there a setting somewhere I can change to stop Kodi doing all this stuff in the background to reduce the number of 'jobs' its creating?

(This isn't a 'why is this not fixed' kinda post but a 'be nice to upgrade' one Smile

)

Had a chance to look a bit more into this and turns out its related to Playlists of all things!

I found a git issue for it and after removing all playlists, 18.5 is now working albeit no smart playlists.
