Linux ODROID N2+ - AMLogic S922X board from Hardkernel

you both forgot to mention one very important difference between N2+ and GT-King; the former is an SBC and latter is a Box. Meaning, you can never brick N2+ and it's pretty easy to brick any Android box. Apart from that, on N2+ you can install any Android version from Pie (Android 9) to latest and future versions, and 18 other third party OSes !

They said they only wanted kodi. The box has safe mode and boot from sdcard so they will be fine. Those android OSes tend to not be well maintained and are usually built by like one person and linked in a forum without sources instead of github (kinda sketchy to me) so they won't be missing out on much.

If they said they wanted to use android I would have said use the n2+. For just kodi/coreelec I don't see any real advantage to the n2+. By the time the emmc wears out it will be waay time for another box anyways.

With the N2+ nearly three years old now is there anything new on the horizon?
