Rename file based on metadata
#1
Hello,
I am aware that a lot of programs like filebot and advanced renamer can search online databases to find movie info. However, that creates a problem if for instance I have the 1957 12 Angry men instead of the 1997. I acquired a collection of 12,000 movies which all have the year in the properties of the file, but after hours of searching I can't find any program to rename based on embedded data rather than online. Can anyone help? Thanks

Posted a bit back, so I'm not sure if the op is still around. 'so the "filename (1957).avi" is in the folder "moviename (1957)"? You want the structure to be folder "moviename (1957)" with "filename.avi" inside? Unsure if you have exported to separate files and now have the meta-data in each folder or not? You can either set up some sort of batch file, or use TheReanmer (alas it doesn't use the embedded data) I note some say it's no longer working, but I'm using it without difficulties with the IMDB as source.
