I think I also solved the going back to the cast when you switch movies/tv shows.  Please test and let me know.  Thanks.

Thank you!

About tv show without cast, I checked again and now it show seasons, but in other time it was showing the cast space with that image you show when have a shelf without nothing. If it happend again I tell you.

The going back to cast worked here, this will not work if I back pressing "esc".

I have another suggestion and will explain the use case.
In settings we have an option to select what show in custom list and an option to show online TMDb info. I use Kodi in a RPi 3, if I enable the option to show online info I will get always a temperature alert because my Pi can't handle with the request of custom list online, so I made this disable here. However I wish to see sometimes online infos about directors or writers, but the way it are I can't. What I wish, and this is the request, is have one option in custom list to show online info, and the other option (out custom list) will work for the rest (for when I click in a director, writer, genre, etc (and if this is enable will show a pop up asking if the search will be local or online search, like is already). This way I, and other people that use low power device will not get warnings and be able to see some infos online.
Exist too another things that is not classified, in my opinion, in none of the options, that are budgets, revenue, RT critics consensus, etc. I like things, but again Pi can't handler with much online requests (since this is less request maybe work, but don't know).

An ideia that come to my mind is have and option for TMDb online info that is something like "use as a button" (this option will came when we click in show TMDb online info). This option enable a new button in video info page (like extended info) and when we click on it in a movie will get the TMDb online info about. Directors, writers, etc, will be clickable to see online info, the same way (without clicking in extended info) if this is enable. Actually this is like it was before the new plugin.
Or may have another solution.

Hope this be a useful thing not just for me!

Another thing that I noticed is if we are in TMDb helper plugin and click "I" in one person, the page that load is in video info page style, and not in person info.
@edjalmo, thanks for the additional feedback.

As to the issues you mention:

1. The item with the image for when a shelf is empty might appear briefly while the skin is getting the cast.  This is by design.

2. I don't know why going back to the cast would not work if you press escape (as opposed to back).  I need to investigate further to see if I can figure it out.

3.  I always request the movie or tv show detailed info from tmdb, even if the setting to show online tmdb info is enabled or not.  This allows to seamlessly show online and local info.  The custom info lists do not show online info if the setting is not enabled, and only custom info lists that can get local info are shown.  For example, crew and recommended are not shown if the setting is not enabled, and all of the other info lists get local info only if the setting is disabled.

If I understand correctly your request, you would like to see online info on writers and directors, even if the setting is not enabled.  Is this correct? If so, I can remove the check for the setting for these two fields, and you will always get a dialog asking if you want to search online or local.

Other info like budget, revenue, awards, rt critics consensus, etc. you always get, and I understand that this is not causing your Pi 3 to overheat, correct?

I will be adding back a button that works like the old Extended Info button used to work, but it will call instead script.embuary.info, with  only the info that plugin provides.  This is one of my biggest to-dos before submitting a new version to the Amber repo and Kodi repo.

4. When you are browsing the tmdbhelper plugin itself, I don't control what is shown when you press i, the plugin does.

Please confirm my understanding of your requests, so I know how to proceed.  Thanks.

Regards,

Bart

I didn't know that the info of custom lists, with online infos disable, is geted by TMDb.
Yes I like to be able to select online and offline info about directors, writers without enable online info.
I test this right now here and the budget, revenue, awards, rt critics consensus, etc make Pi overheat. Maybe this is because the skin are requesting this and custom list things online. I removed those (budget, revenue, awards, rt critics consensus) from dialog video info here to test and the overthinking not happened. EDIT: I test with all custom list disabled and Pi not overthinking to load budget, revenue, awards, rt critics consensus.
Consider add a new option to select what things to show (status, awards, revenue, RT critics consensus etc), like custom lists, in video info, if this not make the code much complicated.
Also, this let me know about another place that not back to beginner when we move of a movie/tv show from another. The place is the list with infos about movie/tvshow (director, writers, etc), the stay in place that we stopped in another movie/tv show.

EDIT 2: actually this seems very relative. Like, we going into night here where I live and I can see movies info page with custom list enabled (without online, of course) and Pi could handle without problem. The fact is this is a low powered device and how much online info I can avoid is better, because is like I'm in the limiar of run smoothly.

@edjalmo, thanks for the additional info.  Just to clarify, no info in the custom info lists is requested online from TMDb if the setting is disabled.  What is always requested from TMDb is the detailed info on the movie or tv show.  This is just one call, which allows for showing the details, like writer, director, genre, studio, MPAA, etc., even if you do not have that info locally.  This also allows for cast to be always shown, even if you do not have cast locally.

Again, if I understand you correctly, your RPi 3 does not overheat if you have the setting disabled, correct? Please confirm.  You see, it doesn't make much sense to have settings for which of the details to get online or not, since they are all requested in a single call, not in multiple calls for each item.  I think we would lose a lot if I do not get any online info at all when the setting is disabled.

What I will go ahead and do is allow to get online info for directors and writers even if the setting is disabled.  I will let you know when it is ready so that you can test and let me know your thoughts.

Ohhh, I understand now. So, the infos that is get online, even if the option is disabled, is cast, directors, writers, etc (and addition of budget, revenue, awards...), right?
Like I said the condition of Pi have variations of weather conditions too, sometimes work good, sometimes not so.
Now I think that is good just separe online info from custom list of the other online info.
When you add the option to get online info for directors and writers even when the online info is disabler will be good. And when you add the extended info I will can see this extended info with one click directly in movies/tv show page Smile

Thanks for clarify!

EDIT: forget to answer better: no, the Pi not overheat if the setting is disabled.

@edjalmo, I thought it better, and I've changed it so that if the tmdb online info setting is disabled, no online info is retrieved.  I think this will be best for low-powered devices.  I did add that for director, writer, genre and studio you will always be asked if you want to get info online or locally.  That way, you always have the option to get online info only when you want to.

I also added your suggestion of doing the extra fanart with arrow keys when pressing the Show Fanart button in video info.

I have not added the Extended Info button yet, since I need to skin the windows provided by script.embuary.info.  This will take me some time.

Please download the latest from Git, test, and let me know what you think.  Thanks.

This is awesome! This skin just keeps getting better. I have one suggestion and it is up to you. It might be better to use "AB: Manual Art" and "AB: Auto Art" in the DialogVideoInfo area. I have no problem understanding what they both do, but to a new user to Kodi it may be confusing. Either way it doesn't matter to me. Hopefully one day we can have the bigger images as I previously mentioned, as well as the Next Aired working, at least for me. As it is now I can't see what's airing today because if I use your version, then all the other skins suffer and vice versa Sad

Anyway, your hard work is very much appreciated. Keep up the great work on this skin.

Regards,

Shedrock
@shedrock , thanks!! I changed the labels for the AB buttons in video info to be more specific.  Please download the latest from Git and let me know.  Thanks.

Could you please send me a screenshot of where exactly you would like to see bigger images? This is so that I can be sure of where I need to look at redesigning.

EDIT: The change I made to script.skin.helper.widgets only affects the recently added episodes widget, when you choose to group episodes in the addon settings, so that when you click a Season in the widget, it takes you straight to that season of the tv show.  It should not affect the Episodes Airing Today widget.  I just tested with the Kodi repo version of the addon under Leia (my changes not included), and the Episodes Airing Today widget did not work (I waited for a long time and it did not bring any content.  It seems that some of the addon widgets are not working.  I will now test with the version from MarcelVeldt's beta repo.  I will let you know how it goes.

EDIT 2: Even with the versions from MarcelVeldt's beta repo, the following widgets from skin helper widgets don't work for me: Episodes Airing Today, Next Airing Episodes, and Unaired Episodes.  I would not know how to fix this.

Thanks @shedrock !

Please see my edits to my previous reply to you in regards to episodes airing today.

My suggestion, at least with Amber, is not to use the skin helper widgets Episodes Airing Today widget, but use the Next Aired widget that you can find in Default Shelves in Amber.  It should provide you with the list of up to 20 episodes that are airing next, and it is ordered by dateadded descending, so you should see the ones airing today first.  It uses the TV Show Next Aired addon.

Thanks Bart. I am trying to figure out why I am not seeing the TV Show Next Aired option while trying to setup the widget for it. I can see it on Aeon Nox Silvo and it works, but with Amber I am not seeing the option. I'll get back to you in a bit. I am going to reinstall the skin now.

EDIT: @bsoriano - I did not realize that in your skin it is called "Next Aired Episodes". Anyway, I checked it and it works great.

Thanks for the ability to pass extra fanart in show fanart too! (you could have a visual indicator [when click in show fanart] to show that have another images (check the indicator of images in embruary info, it's simple, doesn't disturb the image and did the job! It's like Android page's indicator).
Just remember to try fix the custom list to always show the first item (in case, the cast) when open a video info page, and also show the first item of information (information that I said is the space with director, writer, genres names).

Nice!

The default could be show the duration only in minutes. The default is kinda weird and is close to the new.

Another suggestions: in settings you have options that only appears when we enable one. This new option could have a tab space in the begin for show an hierarchy.
Like this:
Quote:Use vertical menu
   Static vertical menu
Use large font for vertical menu
Use wrapararound navegation for vertical menu
In this case you could delete the "for vertical menu" in options and we still understand the function.
Quote:Use vertical menu
   Static vertical menu
Use large font for vertical menu
Use wrapararound navegation for vertical menu
It's simple and work!

in order for it to display properly, the latest albums added. Now it displays correctly.

Thank you,

Shedrock
@shedrock , I am glad it's working well for you.

Bart

Thanks.

Thank you! I tested and works great!
@edjalmo, thanks for the suggestion, I will take a look at embuary info.

I am not sure I can fix the custom lists to always go to the first one, I need to investigate this further.  The same with the details list.

Bart
