No, Pre-Defined channels are designed to be a simple, easy and quick way to create Pseudo Channels based on your Kodi content... It's 100% generated from the content on your system. All Genres, Networks, and Studio lists are in the top 25 based on their content type. If your selection is "not terribly useful" then your collection is.... *cough
.A "Pre-Defined" smartplaylist list; won't be added because there is nothing "Pre-Defined" about a smartplaylist; It's categorized as a "User-Defined" channel. The supplied channel manager is the correct way to add "User-Defined" content.
