@Lunatixz just curious, have you made any headway with settings not saving? I haven't had to change anything in a while but I'm curious if it is still an issue

It should be fixed in current build, why? Are you still encountering issues? Any repeatable steps or particular setting?

I did have the issue about a week ago. I'll have some time tomorrow afternoon to mess around with things. I'll do a little testing and fiddling around.

Lunatixz, would be willing to elaborate on what is meant by the warning:

Quote:-Warning It's strongly recommend users using Flash/SSD device change the "centralize file location" to HDD.

I'm not sure if this means that we should create a folder and set it for the cache to be centralized at or if it's suggesting that a second disk should be used or...?

Sorry to ask what might be an obvious question but I'd rather ask and get the answer than keep wondering.  Thanks in advance for any explanation.

Flash/SDD media have a finite amount of writes... Due to heavy writes required by PseudoTV (Cache, M3U, XMLTV, etc)... it's recommended you switch to an HDD path (Network Share - SMB, NFS) or expendable sacrificial media path (flash drive, mircosd).

If you want multi-room access a network share is required, otherwise, any old flash media can be used... The file size is generally low.

That makes sense now, and especially seeing that flash can be used just that it should be considered disposable.

Stupid question on my part again--is it possible to have it in memory some how like a RAM disk of some sort or does that go beyond what the python limitations allow?

A ramdisk is fine as long as it has persistent states between reboots. Python doesn't control ramdisk that's at the OS level.

I believe I've isolated the issue with disappearing custom channels, update included in 0.3.1i... please test and let me know, this may be a good time for user to test the backup/restore utility? feedback is appreciated.

Custom Playlist Channels were deleted again, so here is the debug log (only 835MB this time)
https://1drv.ms/u/s!AszNjtnrwPZahpR-g6lV...w?e=MKryYG

I had updated to the new version, closed Kodi, and the log is from that boot up until I found the channels missing (3:30AM-11:30PM)

I need your m3u.xml, channels.json and library.json files too

What is the name of the missing channel?

Wish I would have known to send the m3u channels and library before this, I used the recovery function shortly after posting the log, so unfortunately I have to wait till it pops up again to send those.

Good news is the recovery feature works.

All of my custom playlist channels were removed.

The names were “CSI”, “DC Animated Universe”, “Law & Order”, “NeebsGaming”, “Star Trek”, and “The Grand Tour”.
