Currently PseudoTV Live supports two methods for multi-room. Shared network folder "Centralized file location" or remote path (Auto Discovery) which accesses a hosted m3u/xmltv via your server instance of PseudoTV Live.

Before you can consider using Multi-Room your Kodi instances have to already be configured to use a centralized MySQL database and shared sources.xml with all paths network accessible. Information and links are found in the readme file.

Needless to say, your media server has to be accessible at all times! This is a good place to install Kodi and run an instance of PseudoTV Live as a server. You CAN NOT run headless, there are NO official headless Kodi builds, and even if there were. You would have no way of configuring PseudoTV Lives settings/channels via a headless option.

The server instance of PseudoTV Live will generate all files necessary for its clients and is best left running along with the media server to guarantee files are kept up to date. Keep in mind only the server instance of PseudoTV Live can configure channels, clients are dummy endpoints that handle playback and assist in configuring Kodi.
... I started looking into setting up centralized MySQL database, but it seems to be working perfectly without it. Maybe because I am using all local metadata (NFOs) and all the media is on a separate machine from the PseudoTV Live server and clients?

I assume it works because your network shares are accessable by all the Kodi clients. However without a centralized db some more advanced channels may not build as planned. Ex. Channels that use play counts.

Thank you for the explanation!  I made the adjustment and things have been performing much better lately.  Sometimes it may take a bit to start once I select a channel but it now plays without interruption between each song, which is much appreciated.  Hopefully down the line I can obtain more powerful hardware but for right now this solved that problem.  Much appreciated.

Sorry to bump this with a new post but I don't think edits get seen very often and this is about a new subject any way.

Has there been any movement towards re-enabling Skins for the program?  Or would these skins here still work with the program if placed in the correct directory?

No, that's for my older PseudoTV Live project...

In PseudoTV Live's current form it uses Kodi's PVR GUI... ie. you would have to change Kodi's skin. https://forum.kodi.tv/forumdisplay.php?fid=67

That's too bad.  Some of those older skins were awesome.  Most of the Skins for Kodi itself do not seem to do much with the theming of the PVR GUI.  At least not that I've seen.

Thanks for the reply.

@Dumyat maintains a PVR skin mod for Estuary (Link Below). It should work with PseudoTV...

You can also use the assets from the old PseudoTV Live skins to make a custom Kodi PVR mod.

I'll take a look at it but right up front I've got to say I know nothing about writing code so I don't expect much.

Noticed that I wasn't getting logos to display (are they only available in PVR mode?) and meant to get around to asking about it but really I'm asking about the way a certain music video keeps taking over the playlist.  Log here.

Image of what I mean to be edited in.  I would like to point out that despite the entire segment being listed as one song the actual stream or playlist is continuing to play other videos.  As far as I know there is nothing actually wrong with the video file.

I don't have experience with Music videos in Kodi and at the moment don't plan to put much effort into them. At some point, I'll change the channel to behave similarly to the "Radio" channels

Is there any way to speed up loading the videos? When I select a channel it takes like 10-20 seconds to load. I am using kodi 19.3 on a 2017 nvidia shield.

Is there a way to trigger a refresh of the Autotune list for Networks/Studios? I've tried clearing my userdata (aside from settings), clearing predefined channels, and completely rebuilding my library (and every combination of the 3), but I haven't been able to get the list to update with the networks for new shows that I added to the library. It's not an issue with exceeding the max channel amount either because I modified jsonrpc.py to increase the amount of networks/studios that it grabs. The only way I've been able to force a refresh is to do a clean reinstall of Kodi itself

Hey,

is there a fix for the addon information crashing on Kodi 19.3 yet? My app accidentally updated itself...

Thanks for the great work with this addon.

I installed it the other week and it automatically found a lot of BBC, AMC, A&E, etc. networks. The Kodi install kept crashing so I decided to reset the unit and try again, unfortunately this time I can't get PseudoTV to scan these same channels it found?
What am I doing wrong? I've installed all the same apps that I had on previously and can't work out why it's not importing the same channels?

Thanks for the reply.

Yep, Kodi's PVR section definetly needs some love. For starters take a look at the last 5 screenshots from the Unfussy Skin here:

There's also a thread here on this forum:
