lol, configuring this is definitely making me feel like a noob

i think i got it working, so that "migrated addon" config that seems to be installed by default, we have to update in the general tab and epg tab, remote path to local path, and point to that userdata folder(.m3u and .xml files respectively)...

any thoughts on how i can accomplish this on shield tv as it doesn't seem i can even see those folders in the browser (show hidden files and folders enabled, permission allowed in shield settings) =\

it also seems whenever i go and click on a program in kodi's tv epg, it tells me "iptv client appears out of sync, do you want to force reload", i do, and it reloads, but then i get that popup again and again

https://kodi.wiki/view/Special_protocol

Log shows you don't have guide data, you need to setup the epg path in-order to use.

i thought i configured both

Is this where you change the IPTV setting, in the Instance-settings-1.xml file in the IPTV plug in folder?

setting id="m3uPath">special://profile/addon_data/plugin.video.pseudotv.live/pseudotv.m3u</setting>

change that to

setting id="m3uPath">\userdata\addon_data\plugin.video.pseudotv.live\cache\pseudotv.m3u</setting> ?

I get the same errors as above  (PVR managers hangs at 0%, and IPTV connection lost, if I make any changes to IPTV, putting it back to special mean I get the out of sync error when playing/changing channels), wanted to make sure I am changing the right thing.

Use Kodi's interface to change the path within IPTV simples settings... my example path my vary depending on your platform.

Yeah, I was overthinking that part, just had to enable viewing of hidden files in the Kodi interface in order to select it that way.  Doesn't fix the IPTV client is out of sync issue when starting or changing channels, but it may be helpful in the troubleshooting to know that you can play items on demand from the PTVL EPG from any channels without the error, it only happens when you try and switch to a channel's current playing content that you have to select "No" when it asks you to reload the client.

It's so much faster changing channels now though with this version that having having to press that to skip it every time is still better than before, so outstanding work on this latest version as far as performance and snappiness!

Testing with 0.4.1l after deleting iptv simple userdata files and setting it up fresh.  I had the same experience of opening a channel > prompt for out of sync > Click yes and force the resync > channel loads > fails at transition.
I noticed I was not able to change channels when pressing the up / down keys on the remote, simply seeing the one station I was currently tuned to.  That log is directly below.
https://paste.kodi.tv/agetayezan.kodi

In a new session I clicked a channel > no on the resync prompt > selected channel loaded up rather quickly.  I was able to arrow up and down and see the other available channels.  I was able to change channels without issue.  When the episode ended I was still unable to transition.  Link for this session below

EDIT:

Can you try exiting Kodi, then in the userdata/addon data folder, look for the simple cache folder and delete simple cache.db. Start Kodi again and test. Thx

db file delete felt like the same outcome.

Finally believe I found the issue; It looks like at some point I missed a Kodi commit that removed the 'pvr://' path from the json whitelist. In-short plugins can not parse folders without permission. I'll have to look for a solution around this, but for now add "pvr://" as a video source in Kodi and select "None" as a metadata type.
https://kodi.wiki/view/Adding_video_sources
This should solve your issue, if not... I'm stumped.

You got it!  After adding pvr:// as a video source, the out of sync messages disappeared and transitions appear to be working.  I'll continue to test to see if I notice anything out of the ordinary.

Now that you figured out the transition issue I was having, I'd like to provide feedback on performance.
On my windows machine the performance is excellent. Initial channel loading and switching channels seems to happen within a second. Very snappy. My experience on my android tv / google TV boxes have taken a hit in terms of performance. Prior to the 0.4.0 update, it took anywhere from 4-5 seconds to load or change channels. After the update is is now taking 8-9 seconds.to change channels and transition.
