Pi4 - Kernel 5.3.x - Setting/change of screen refresh rate fails inside Kodi
#1
The setting or change of screen refresh rate fails inside Kodi if Raspberry Pi4 is running kernel 5.3.x (as time of writing 5.3.3).
A short flickering of screen is noticeable, but rate is not changed. Don't see any ERROR log in the log of Kodi
Works on kernel 4.19.x though.

Running same kernel on Pi3B+ hardware,  changing screen refresh rate is ok there, so being unsure if issue depends on Kodi or kernel.

Xbian is not directly supported by team Kodi.

Perhaps you can try LibreELEC 9.1.501, and compare notes.

What a surprise. LE 9.1.501 is using 4.19.x kernel, and as already written, 4.19.x is ok

The topic is that it does not work with kernel 5.3.x

I created this thread because kernels guys are about to release a new LTS kernel (5.4-rc1 is already available) and it would be good idea to fix this before this LTS kernel has been released

Sorry, I don't know every kernel number used by the different OSes.
