Android NVIDIA Shield TV Pro (2019 new model)
I have a NVIDIA shield pro 2019 and Kodi resolution is set on 4k but when I take screenshots as 1920×1080 resolution even when I play 4k movies and take screenshots it show as 1920×1080 am I doing something wrong? Shouldn't be 3840×2160 thanks

Is this not the case - is the Player-led vs Display-led instead to do with how the BL+EL+RPU stuff is processed either in the player or the TV ?
From a purely technical stand point, there shouldn't be any difference between player-led vs TV-led modes for profile 7 media on Ultra-HD Blu-ray players. User reports (like that of @DaMacFunkin) suggest that this is not always the case. You may occasionally see noticeable difference between player-led and TV-led modes in certain scenes. One likely explanation for this is subtle differences in ST2084 EOTF application in the two modes.

Should the baseband video output of the UHD BD player over the HDMI connection in both player-led and TV-led modes be the same (give or take possibly noise due to tunnelling?) - with the metadata path being the only difference, or does the player do a lot more processing based on metadata in one model than the other?

My little Kodi player (Vero 4k) has broken down and I'm looking for a replacement. I assume the Shield 2019 is the best dedicated Kodi player there is? Is it worth it to get the Pro version?

If you don't need 3D, I'd consider ODROID N2+ w/CoreELEC. But, I also have Shield Pro, which is worth it over Shield Tube.

Not to derail from the thread, but rom your current support request, you likely just need to change the power supply.
The device should then function again.

We are waiting for a response to your post to follow up on this.

This is indeed what happened. Got a new cable today and with that and a spare phone charger, I managed to get the Vero working again.

Good to see:
- Customizable menu button actions: Double press and long press
- SMBv3 support
- VC-1 playback fixes
- Match frame rate (beta); useful for Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc.

Just updating mine. The 'What's New' for 8.2.0 also includes AI upscaling for 60fps content (previously this has been limited to 30fps). AIUI the AI upscaling is marginal at best - but be good to see what it does with SD and HD TV content on a 4K display. (In my case 50fps)

How does one customize the menu button actions (Double press and Long press)? Not seeing instructions.

Assuming you've got the update: Settings > Remotes & Accessories > Customise Menu button.

Do you have more details at this feature?

Did the Shield now REAL AUTOMATIC frame rate matching like the Apple TV 4K?

No, it has REAL MANUAL frame rate matching using a button.

Instructions here. Think it's the right one.

Had been using this user-built app to date, so something to revert to if nVidia's doesn't work (or as well).

No - this seems to be the same mechanism that nVidia have been trialling for a while.  You set a shortcut to 'Match Frame Rate' so that when you start playing a video you can go to the Match Frame Rate option quickly by pressing the hamburger key and it will check the frame rate of the video playing and adjust the output refresh rate accordingly.
