So i know that you can get MrMC for the Apple TV but I rather use real kodi. I can't seem to find the capabilities of Kodi that's side loaded on the Apple TV 4k. Will it be able to do proper 4k HDR playback of appropriate media like MrMC does? I know at this time MrMC will not pass-through DTS+ or Dolby Atmos to my receiver? Can I do that with Kodi like I can with a Vero4k??

Honestly I'd like to consolidate out the Vero4k+ if possible and also get something that's faster then that box.

Short answer is currently no for all the above.

The MRMC team are well across the audio capabilities (and possibilities) of the ATV, so if its not done in MrMC, the likelihood of it being capable is minimal.

Not even with a jailbroken ATV 4K? I would be surprised if the hardware was uncapable of audio bitstreaming for hi-res formats. Same goes for HDR. Am I mistaken in my thinking?

While the ATV 4K DOES internally seem capable of various forms of audio bitstreaming, access is not present in any public API. From the console log...

When it is outputting eac3/atmos:

"mtb+" seems to be Dolby MAT 2.x.
