Ok, I will try to find out, how to use inputstream.adaptive for playing the HLS streams of our German Public TV. 

Concerning your comment in the earlier post: "In the advanced settings of the addon you can select which protocols can work with it." I believe, I had tried out all permutations of the settings. It always stayed dark, without the #KODIPROP:inputstream.ffmpegdirect.open_mode=ffmpeg. As I already told, when timeshift was not enabled, it worked. So, this really can be an obstacle for man users. (For myself, it is solved).

There is an advanced setting in the addon to use adaptive for HLS.

Or you can just add this prop if it’s only for certain streams you want it.
