Solved Upnp host crashes on second playback
#1
I have kodi on Ubuntu desktop running kodi from Debian 17.6 package version 2. It is running on a desktop pc and acts as a host for streaming video using upnp. I can successfully stream the first video from my Ubuntu desktop pc to my fire stick running kodi, however when I select a second video to play, the kodi on the Ubuntu desktop crashes. This happens every time and I am unable to ever get a second video to play without restarting kodi. I have tried to see if there is any logging relating to the crash but see nothing.

Kodi has its own PPA for use in Ubuntu flavored OSes. Follow directions here: https://kodi.wiki/view/HOW-TO:Install_Kodi_for_Linux
Using the default Debian package in the Ubuntu repository is not recommended.
