Where is it possible to find the official .tar.gz file to install Kodi 18.5?

On the Kodi page I found only indications to install from the terminal. The problem is that the distribution I use (Deepin OS, based on Debian) installs version 17.1 (even with updated repositories). I have searched the tar.gz file in several places to install manually but everything I found comes from pages of doubtful origin.

There's no tar.gz for Kodi. If your distribution doesn't provide a new package then, unfortunately, you have to compile Kodi from source. We have a PPA for Kodi where you can get the package from, but that's for Ubuntu.

Build instructions for Leia can be found here: https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/blob/Leia/d...E.Linux.md
For Matrix it's this: https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/blob/master...E.Linux.md
