I noticed vfs.nfs was removed from Leia branch just a few days ago. Reason given was that "work [was] still inside kodi" and that the addon was unmaintained. However, I saw that the addon itself has been updated in early February and it is still included in kodi Matrix binary addons.

What is the sense of removing a seemingly redundant addon from Leia and then adding it back to Matrix? What is the actual purpose of this addon and how would its absence/presence impact other addons?

Leia has built in NFS support. No addon needed. There might be plans to move NFS support into an add-on completely. But that's something for the future

Yes, it shouldn't be needed, I was going to say to remove it if you had it installed. Mine works fine without that addon installed.
