I use Latt's MQ8 MutiMod with kodiflix view.

I do remember having to change the views xml for apng to work (but I think that was just for other art like "logos") and I changed all background ="true"
statements to background="false".

Which version of Kodi are you using? 19.1 or older?

18.9 on my main setup and they work great....19.1 on another machine just tested and played fine left focused for 15 min.
 I did make the changes in the view .xml on the 19.1 install.
