When the Kodi installer checks for the Win7 KB2670838 update it fails the check. I do have it installed, and am currently using Kodi 17.6, which was installed with some sort of "workaround" for that check, as that update is installed and running, but for some reason the check fails. I even tried uninstalling the KB update and reinstalling, but that changed nothing when it came to the check. I even ran the code that does the check in a command prompt, and saw it fail to return a positive result, despite the fact that Windows shows the KB update installed and will not install it "again".
I want to upgrade to the Leia version of Kodi and was wondering if there is a similar "workaround" for installing. I do not want to re-install Win7 or "upgrade" to Win10. Any suggestions?
