Can you play 1 file to 2 kodi devices?

So as the title says is there a way to link 2 kodi's together? Ill give an example. So I am watching a movie in the family room. Then I move into the kitchen to make dinner while everyone else is still watching a movie from my personal library. Can I open kodi on a different device and tap into the same video stream in the family room and operate it like a distribution amplifier?

I do remember a KordKutters video from long ago that had a tutorial that would allow a setup in which a currently viewed video would follow you to the kitchen on a tablet at the exact position in the film, might be worth hounding it out. I suspect that twining of display is more than possible; I do it all the time with my TV and monitor. All of this is contingent to access of one library. Syncing and sharing (wiki)

I suspect that running two Kodi accessing the same file at the same time, might prove a problem in fetch and bandwidth thinking gridlock for the same block, hence my thoughts on twining the display.
