Linux Video playback jerky using KODI local media player

Hello

What adjustments can be made to correct a jerky playback.
The video is played by the local Kodi media player.
Ubuntu 16
Memory: 4G
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E4500 @ 2.2GHZ * 2
Graphics: Intel G33
Settings→Video Settings
De-interlace method: De-interlace
Video Scaling Model: Bilinear
View Mode: stretch 16:9

Not the very latest of hardware specs, is it?
Modern video types may be a bit hard to chew on by your PC.

Please provide a debug-enabled debug log (wiki) for further details.

We don't support your hardware anymore. We did so 10 years ago. Please try kodi v14, it should still work nicely.

Hacks with forcing SW Rendering are not suggested, but you can obviously try them.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.
