What resolution to use for Retina screen?
#1
Hi,
I noticed Kodi by default choose 2560X1440 resolution for my iMac (27inch 5K retina screen). It is also possible to choose the native resolution 5120X2880 from the settings.
Which resolution should I use and does Kodi use native resolution when playing videos? Personally I don't care if the menus are rendered in low resolution, but I'd like videos to be played at highest quality.
I saw in release notes of 17.5 that Kodi added support for retina screens, but not sure what it means...
Any suggestion is appreciated!

Does your resolution of 5120x2880 stick after quitting and restarting Kodi? Mine doesn't as you can see here https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/issues/17871

I don't seem to have this issue. It works fine for me but annoying when sometimes I want to see the desktop while playing in Kodi
